"Windy Hill Hike in
Portola Valley"
An Networking Series Event

Saturday, July 18th, from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Join your FWA colleagues for wonderful views and
great networking in the woods as FWA member Joan Anway leads
a 3.5 mile hike in the beautiful rolling hills of
Windy Hill Open Space Preserve.
What to bring - water, day pack, a snack if you like, hat,
sunscreen, sturdy walking shoes, and a smile. Walking sticks
can also be nice as the hike is entirely on uneven ground
rather than pavement.
We will hike approximately 3.5 miles or about 1 hour with a
longer option available if you'd like to hike further. This
is a hike for the moderately fit walker, with some uphill
but mostly with undulating woods and lovely vistas. Much of
this walk is shady, but it may still be hot, so be prepared
with water and a hat. We will traverse the traditional Windy
Hill climb at one point, but this is not a steep hike except
for one stretch of about 200 yards.
Windy Hill Open Space Preserve is located in the town of
Portola Valley. Please note that there are several parking
lots, but we will convene in the parking lot at the lower
portion of the preserve, which is located on Portola Road.

Directions follow:
- Northbound off 280 -
From Highway 280, exit Alpine Road in Portola Valley. Go
south on Alpine Road about 2.9 miles to Portola Road (the
first stop sign). Turn right on Portola Road and travel 0.8
miles to the parking lot on the left side of the road.
- Southbound off 280 -
From Highway 280, exit Sandhill in Menlo Park and turn WEST.
Travel up Sandhill about 2.0 miles until it becomes Portola
Rd. Continue on the main road. Travel through the small town
of Portola Valley and the parking lot on the right side of
the road. You have gone too far if you get to a stop sign.
