The Risk Management Association, in conjunction
with the FWA and Cal-CPA, invites you to a lunch program
featuring Greg Saunders, EVP & Chief Financial Officer of
Bridger Commercial Funding, who will share his view on the
commercial mortgage-backed securities market.
An expert in commercial real estate financing, Mr. Saunders
will discuss the rise of commercial mortgage-backed
securities, the reasons CMBS funding has dried up, and the
prognosis for its return. There has been virtually no new
issuance of CMBS since the summer of last year. The result
has been a reduction in the number of investment sales
across the country. How did the CMBS market deteriorate?
What will convince investors to purchase these securities in
the future? How does it affect your organization?
About the Speaker
Greg Saunders is Executive Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer of Bridger Commercial Funding LLC. In this
role, he oversees finance, operations, information
technology, and strategy for the firm. He joined the firm in
November 1998, bringing 19 years of financial, operational
and strategic leadership to the company.
Mr. Saunders is a financial veteran of three publicly-traded
Bay Area companies in the real estate, specialty finance and
information services arena. He was most recently Executive
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of National
Information Group, a publicly-traded real estate information
services company in South San Francisco. Prior to this, Mr.
Saunders was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
Transcisco Industries, Inc., a publicly-traded international
financial and industrial services corporation in San
Francisco. During his career at Transcisco, he facilitated
the successful resolution of the firm's complex, 29-month
Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcies, which involved
multiple entities and hundreds of creditors. Mr. Saunders'
previous positions include Division Controller for PLM
International and consulting engagements with Control Data
Corporation and American Express.
Mr. Saunders holds an MBA degree from Harvard University.
