The Financial Women's
Association Of San Francisco
Silicon Valley Group
presents
A Professional Development Series Event "Turn Your Career Accomplishments
into Professional Advancement" Tuesday, May 20th, 2008
In this extraordinary hands-on working session, Jennifer
Colosi, founder of the executive search firm Colosi
Associates and an FWA board member, will help you identify
your most important career accomplishments - some of which
you may not even be aware of - and turn them into
professional advancement within your organization or
industry.
Are you a participant - or a driver? Let's say you're a
professional with the right education, brand name firm,
senior title, or other strong credentials. You surely have a
solid idea of your responsibilities. But are you clear about
your accomplishments? Ask yourself this: when working with
others, were you a participant or the driver in achieving
the team's goals?
Here's a little known secret: "advancers" don't wait for
someone else to tap them with the seal of approval.
Advancers ensure their accomplishments are known. It's one
reason that identifying your greatest accomplishments - and
persuasively communicating them to key people - is critical
to advancing your career (or your company). When it's done
effectively, you will gain:
Deserved recognition and career advancement within your
current organization
New clients for your firm
Greater access to the perfect position in a new company
Improved networking effectiveness.
Session Preparation
To jump start the discussions, Jennifer asks you to think
about the following questions before you arrive:
Who loves you, baby - or why does your company or firm
love you?
How have you made your supervisor's job easier?
What do clients or customers say about you?
When did you go outside your job description or job box
to attack a "hot potato" issue?
When you started at your current position, what was the
state of affairs in your area of responsibility and how does
it compare to the current state? (i.e. the "change" is the
value you added)
Your accomplishments add immensely to your net worth -
and that's worth talking about. Ensure that your
accomplishments work for you by registering for this
session!
