The Financial Women’s
Association Of San Francisco - Silicon Valley Group
Presents A Lifestyles Series Event hosted by Lucy & Lily, Inc.: "Lucy & Lily: Revolutionary CEO,
Revolutionary Pants"
Join us on Wednesday, May 23 to meet the CEO of
Lucy & Lily - Busy Burr, and her team, to see FWA friends,
and to experience the Lucy & Lily Revolution of customized
pants that fit. Lucy & Lily's singular mission is to
give women what they want - pants that fit any body,
in modern styles, at reasonable prices.
Busy Burr, Lucy & Lily’s Founder and CEO, will discuss
how her roundabout career path took her from investment
banker to fashion CEO, and how the combination of her
finance, marketing, and leadership talents are driving Lucy
& Lily to success. Lucy & Lily staff will also be on hand to
introduce you to their fabrics and styles. You can be fitted
and order pants right at the event!
The Lucy & Lily Story:
In 2003, two friends met at a cafe in Menlo Park and
decided that designers were out of touch: they were
designing navel-baring clothes for model-thin teenagers or
loose-fitting functional clothes for everyone else. What
about those of us who love great fashion? If we could each
get our lattes the way we wanted them, why not our clothes?
It was then that Lucy & Lily was born.
The two women set out to find the best technologies to
change production, investing in state-of-the-art
computer-aided design and patternmaking. They hired the best
designers. They built a process that blended the
long-standing tradition of custom tailoring with the speed
and efficiency of new technology.
Lucy & Lily has developed patent pending technology to
make a customized pattern for every customer. Our pants are
sewn made-to-order, one-at-a-time, in San Francisco,
California. Lucy & Lily seeks to combine beautiful design
and fabrics, old-world craftsmanship, and innovative
technology to create clothes that have great style, great
fit, and personal appeal.
About the CEO:
Busy Burr, Founder and CEO, launched Lucy & Lily in 2004
after a successful career in technology investment banking
at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse First Boston and after
years of operating experience at Gap, including serving as
Vice President of Global Brand Management – managing 4 Gap
Brands in 6 countries. Busy earned her MBA from Stanford in
1987.
