The Financial Women’s
Association Of San Francisco
presents
A Industry Leadership Series Event:
"The Generational Melting Pot: Managing the Clash of
Traditionals, Boomers, X-ers and Millennials in the
Workplace"
Underwritten by:
When most organizational leaders think of diversity
initiatives, they tend to think of racial, gender, and
cultural diversity. Another prevalent aspect of workplace
diversity that remains largely overlooked by most
organizations is generational diversity.
For the first time in history, there are 4 generations in
the workplace: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation
X, and Millennials.
A multi-generational workforce presents many challenges
for today's organizations. Each group brings different
experiences, culture, motivations, priorities, skills,
biases, and preferred management styles. Yet the ability for
these diverse groups of people to work together is the power
that propels organizations into new dimensions of
performance.
On Thursday, March 29th, The Financial Women’s
Association of San Francisco is delighted to host John P.
Morrissey, Learning and Development Consultant at Wells
Fargo Bank, as he shares valuable insights on how
generational diversity impacts our workplace. Rebecca
Macieira-Kaufmann will be facilitating the discussion.
This session will
- Identify the different expectations and core values of
each generation;
- Highlight the unique assets of each group;
- Explore ways to manage intergenerational conflict; and
- Recommend strategies to attract and retain people from
different age groups.
About the Speakers:
John Morrissey is a recognized expert in the field
of generational diversity. John draws upon 25 years of
teaching, corporate research, and training experience to
understand the issues of today’s complex workplace.
Following a successful and award-winning 20-year teaching
career, he has been a part of the Leadership and Development
team at Wells Fargo since 1999. His passion for corporate
leadership and management programs now makes him a sought
after speaker and trainer across the country.
An admitted "Baby Boomer," John has a unique perspective
regarding successfully managing and motivating multiple
generations. He taught "Generation X" in the 1980's and the
"Millennials" in the 1990's so he has a first hand knowledge
of their distinctive experiences and backgrounds. Since
then, he has interviewed thousands of workers from different
age groups in preparation for his new book, GenWise,
due to be published in 2007.
Currently living in Omaha, John is a member of the National
Speakers Association, and he is a member of ASTD and ASTD-Nebraska.
Rebecca Macieira-Kaufmann will facilitate the
discussion. Rebecca is an Executive Vice President and Head
of the Small Business Segment at Wells Fargo. She is
responsible for profit and loss management of the Small
Business Cash Management and Business Direct Lines and Loans
businesses, as well as Small Business Marketing and the
National Business Banking Center for the Diversified
Products Group.
Rebecca has been recognized for the past four years as one
of the "100 Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business" by
The San Francisco Business Times, and was recently
highlighted as a member of Wells Fargo’s 2nd ranked “Womens’
Banking Teams” by US Banker.
Rebecca is also a long-time member and supporter of the
Financial Women’s Association of San Francisco. In 2006,
Rebecca was part of the nominating committee for The
Financial Woman of the Year event.
Wells Fargo is a Visionary Sponsor of the FWA Scholarship
Fund, with significant contributions over the past 10 years
to benefit deserving women studying finance in undergraduate
