"Mixer & Tour of Second Harvest Food Bank of San Mateo County"

Come and join us on August 21st to learn how this successful non-profit organization - Second Harvest Food Bank - helps alleviate hunger in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.

Eat, drink, & bond with new and old financial friends at the Second Harvest distribution facility in San Carlos. Second Harvest serves 30 million pounds of food a year to an amazing 162,000 individuals in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties each month! Build your awareness of the important role of food banks and food distribution programs in our community. We’ll also find out:

• Who benefits
• How Second Harvest earned its high efficiency rating,
• How Second Harvest compares to other non-profits,
• What self-help programs are available, and
• How you and/or your company can help and give something back to the community.

Attendees can contribute by bringing cash contributions or nutritious, non-perishable foods such as: meals in a can (e.g., stew, chili, or soup), tuna/canned meat, peanut butter, canned foods with pop-top lids, low sugar cereals, 100% fruit juices in single-serving boxes, canned fruit packed in juice and canned veggies. Please avoid donating items packaged in glass.
