presents

A Lifestyle and Special Events Series Event:

"The Bonds & the Bees: A Panel for Your Kids About...Money"

On Tuesday, August 14, bring the young people in your life to the Orinda Community Center for a fun, interesting, and interactive program to educate young adults about finances. The program will be led by three seasoned experts in the field of financial literacy for young people: Michelle Matlin, who will be using curriculum prepared by the California Society of CPAs; Paula Davis and Patricia Lott, co-founders of Riches By Design Money Matters Network, Inc.; and Karen Campbell, an FWA member who will provide a parent’s perspective.

The program will focus on budgeting, savings, and credit cards. Some of the interesting offerings at this event include:

  • Financial planning guides targeted for use by 16 - 22 year-olds,
  • Bank of America, Citibank, and Wells Fargo representatives on hand to provide helpful information for young adults, and
  • Computers provided by Yodlee to model budgeting/spending choices.

"Young adults" attending will be eligible to win an iPod donated by Burr, Pilger & Mayer, and participants will also be eligible to win Starbucks and iTunes gift cards. Prior to the event, attendees can submit questions anonymously via the link below:
