The Financial Women’s
Association Of San Francisco
presents
An Industry Leadership Series Event
co-sponsored with The Association for Corporate Growth:
"Putting $1 Trillion to Work"
Please join the Financial Women’s Association at a joint
meeting with the Association for Corporate Growth as we
welcome the dynamic, San Francisco-native Warren
Hellman, Chairman, Hellman & Friedman, a San Francisco-based
private equity firm. For this special luncheon program, Mr.
Hellman will discuss how the influx of nearly $100 billion
of capital, raised by U.S. private equity firms during the
first half of 2006, will be put to use by his and other
firms.
According to the San Francisco Business Times, the
industry's buying power reaches $1.5 trillion when looking
at total capital committed by institutional investors and
the level of debt used to finance such deals. In this
somewhat crowded market, Hellman & Friedman is
differentiated by its focus on the service sector, the fact
that the firm is its own largest limited partner (“we have a
ton of skin in our own game,” says Hellman), the low fees it
charges, and the lack of self-importance that partners bring
to a deal. The firm also usually avoids having a majority
share in the companies they invest in. Founded in 1984,
Hellman & Friedman LLC has raised and managed over $8
billion of committed capital and has invested in over 50
companies. Currently the firm is seeking to raise $8 billion
for its sixth fund, Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners VI,
L.P. (HFCP VI).
We look forward to seeing you on November 16th!
