The Financial Women’s Association Of San Francisco –Silicon Valley Group
presents

An Industry Leadership Series Event:
"Resilience and the Risk Revolution"

Megatrends in the social and political environment have brought about a revolution in risk for business and society. Join us Thursday, June 8th while Dr. Nicholas Imparato reveals:

  • How society’s changing expectations of business and managerial behavior will shape your career;
  • How managers add value in the new risk environment – the new skill sets;
  • How the commotion about risk and governance is driven by deep trends in the macro-environment more than recent events; and
  • How all this relates to corporate and individual resilience.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Nicholas Imparato has had careers in both business and academia. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, where he concentrates on the intersection of public policy and business strategy. Imparato is also a professor of marketing and management at the University of San Francisco, where he has focused on branding, innovation and corporate resilience, governance and risk strategy.

In 1995, Imparato was honored with the Tops in Marketing Award, Sales and Marketing Executives International, a recognition normally given to senior business leaders (including chief executives, Donald Keough of Coca Cola, Herbert Kelleher of Southwest Airlines, and Robert Gavin of Motorola).

During special university leaves of absence, he served as chairman of Primewave Solutions, a software and tenant services initiative of Spieker Properties and Equity Office (NYSE), an advisor and active board member at Saab Financial Group and the Federal Bank of the Middle East (London and Cyprus), Senior Vice President of Strategic Operations and Ford Liaison at First Nationwide Bank, a Ford Motor financial subsidiary, and Chief Operating Officer of Coit Industries.

Imparato has been interviewed and quoted extensively in the Financial Times (London), Nikkei Information (Tokyo), The Wall Street Journal, and MoneyWorks (Dubai) as well as on National Public Radio and in regional newspapers. He has authored and coauthored numerous publications including Jumping the Curve: Innovation in an Age of Strategic Choice (Jossey Bass, 1994).
